Vocational Aqualabs

The overall aim of Vocational Aqualabs was to improve Vocational Education and Training (VET) systems in the European Aquaculture sector to ensure researchers receive continual professional development training in generic skills.

The Vocational Aqualabs consortium design, developed and piloted seven courses on generic skills in aquaculture research aimed at researchers. The seven courses were selected for development based on an extensive needs analysis (click here for the report) carried out by the consortium. The courses include:
  1. Experimental Design

  2. Aquaculture Entrepreneurship Mentorship

  3. Data and Statistical Management

  4. Scientific writing

  5. Project management

  6. Research Funding Procurement

  7. Networking key for a successful career

The courses were piloted online and face-to-face across Turkey, Greece, Spain, Ireland and the United Kingdom.

The project closed in 2011. Click here for details on the piloted courses and to access all deliverables per Work Package.
